The Rev. Dr. R. William (Bill) Dickson
It all started when…
Both Bill and his wife, Ginger, are proud graduates of UT (Austin). Bill’s undergraduate degree was in Psychology (1977). He then obtained his Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary majoring in the Greek New Testament (1985). Following the completion of his Th.M. he moved to Edinburgh, Scotland where he studied the Greek Old Testament with special focus on the Greek text of the Minor Prophets. He completed his Ph.D. from Edinburgh in 1991.
Bill was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church in June,1994 and then again as a priest in January, 1995. He served in various positions and locations within that denomination until 2008-9 when he, his parish (St. Andrew’s, Fort Worth) and the entire Diocese of Fort Worth exited The Episcopal Church for theological and moral reasons and became founding members of ACNA (The Anglican Church in North America). Bill has served as a priest in good standing in ACNA since that time. He and his wife retired out of Fort Worth in 2016. They settled in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas where they enjoy various retirement pleasures and caring for their many cats. Ginger has a private psychotherapy practice specializing in grief and loss and plays the French Horn in a local band.
Throughout Bill’s ministry he has had a special interest in Biblical Greek, the close reading and exegesis of the Greek New Testament and the Greek Old Testament, and the history and theological emphases of the English Reformation. He continues to teach courses in these areas.
